These are the harvested peaches that we kept for ourselves to can and they are yummy! The early varieties started in mid-August with the Rising Star, StarFire, Allstar and Blushing star (a white meat peach)~then came the Veterans and Frosts and Golden Jubilee. These are Late Elberta which is still my all round favorite.
We posted our orchard on a U-pick website and the thing that people wanted most were peaches~ we had tons of calls and still are getting them.
It is amazing how a tree with a trunk no bigger around than a closet rod and not as tall as me can bear so many big fruits~
but we are not complaining!

Annette said it was time to update the Fruit stand progress so here you are.
This picture was taken after standing up the last wall on the second floor. The smiles are because the blasted thing weighed a ton and we barely had enough help to get it up!

One of the biggest challenges was setting the top beam in the upper story. This is right after we got it up. And the truly amazing thing is--IT IS LEVEL!!
David Bennet has been a tremendous blessing in the last month. He has come every morning at 6:3o and helped with whatever needed doing. The project would not be nearly as far along without both his physical and mental help. He has helped me avoid several problems. (We have created a couple too but you will have to come inspect the fruit stand yourself and find them. We aren't telling where they are!!)
And we are almost ready for roofing!! We have just a little more finishing up to do and we will be ready for the roofing crew. They are supposed to be here Saturday so we are hustling to get everything ready.
