Dad fretted over the stairs for quite awhile. He wanted to get them just right without wasting any wood. He actually got them on his 2nd try (first cuttung try, I believe).
When they were first installed, they took you right up to the 2nd floor 'platform'. There were no walls up yet and you could see all over the neighborhood.
It did actually seem like a stairway to heaven.
